First edition. An historical look at the families of Abby and Mark Anthony D'Wolf and their "Longfield" house. Illustrated with 82 black-and-white photographic plates in addition to 2 portraits. Dark green cloth boards, lettering and decoration in gilt, with front cover design of a four-quarter coat of arms representing Gibson D'Wolf and Hastings Marston; endpapers with a picturesque harbor view of the town of Bristol from a watercolor by Louisa M. (Gibson) Pratt. Dust jacket is illustrated with a photograph of the house on the front panel and has printed flaps but is otherwise plain white (unprinted). Very good to near fine with cover showing only the barest wear to the spine ends, back lower corner slightly bumped, previous owner's name at head of endpaper and bookplate on fly-leaf.
