Dust jacket panels and spine toned as are edges of flaps, stronger browning to top half of front panel along fold, light soiling with some minor nicks and light creases at edges, closed tear at heel of front flap fold, bottom corner of front flap is clipped; dj now presented in a mylar Brodart protector. Black cloth with bright gilt stamping upon spine and front board. Interior leaves are bright and clean. Delightful illustrations by Maurice Sendak. "Works of Maurice Sendak" by Joyce Hanrahan (Saco, ME: Custom Communications, 2001) specifies the following identification points for first printings: {1} dj front flap price of $6.95 in upper right corner followed by a blurb on the book and, at the bottom, "Harper & Row, Publishers | 1065"; {2} dj rear flap has a 25 line review of Wilder followed by an 18 line review of Sendak and concludes with a 12 line write-up on Engvick.
