Pages remarkably bright for wartime paper and clean except for a little dust staining at the endpapers and a bookplate at the front endpaper; there is a pervasive smell of prior damp. Binding is somewhat relaxed, but square and secure; cloth shows modest softening at the spine heel and some rubbing at extremities, otherwise sound. Jacket shows short, open tears at edges and corners and along the front foreedge, toning along the spine, and rubbing along the spine sides and foreedges, but is generally clean and now protected in a clear sleeve. 106pp. w/index.
