On the same page above the inscription is a note in ink by a former owner to "Please return to" with an address in Wellesley, Mass. Laid in is a printed invitation to a reception honoring Van Waters at St. Andrew's Parish (no address) on March 4, 1962; also laid in is a newspaper review of the book. The book is square and unmarked; the boards are foxed and worn at the spine ends. Three parts of the dust jacket are separate and laid in--the back panel and the two flaps. Mylar protected.
