Beautifully bound in superb exhibition binding bearing the ink stamp "Paris Exhibition 1900". The bindings are 3/4 browm morocco over matching cloth, spine with green morocco labels and 8 morocco flower and ribbon inlays and gilt floral tooling, covers ruled in gilt, all edges gilt, marbled endpapers, each volume bearing the elaborate monogram of Samuel M. Vauclain (the head of Baldwin Locomotive Works) on front and back covers (spines somewhat faded, with some nicking and rubbing). Copy #60 of 100 numbered copies of the Astral edition, printed on Japan vellum. All plates present in 2 states. Bookseller Inventory # 00524111
