With black & white frontis portrait of the author as well as several drawings and views of Scottish scenes scattered throughout the text. With an introduction by the author and with frequent footnotes. Possibly published c.1830s-40s. --- This compact volume in full green cloth-covered boards with decorations and titling in silver on cover and spine. Volume lacks a dust jacket. --- With prior owner's signature, dated 1847, to front free endpaper, and with dust soiling to textblock edges and discreet Sacramento bookseller label to front paste-down; else a tightly-bound, sound copy.; 24mo 5" - 6" tall; 288 pages.
