Seventh edition. Original green cloth, frontispiece, tissue guard, other illustrations. This is a very scarce book (there are no other 19th century copies available online. all are modern reprints.) Very good in original decorated green cloth, circa 1885. Isabella L. Bird wrote these memoirs as a series of letter to her sister in England. Of particular interest is her observations about Lake Tahoe, Indians, travel, Estes Park, the Great Divide, etc. "Journey to Truckee" was reprinted in 1945 in a limited edition of 175 copies, of which we have the only one listed online.
