This is an Oct. 6, 1889 timetable and map for the Lake Shore Route with the map showing the Lake Shore Route and Michigan Southern Railway and connections. Printed on a yellow paper, each panel measures 8-5/8 inches by 4 inches and they are folded 2 panels high and 10 panels across for a total size of 17-1/4 inches by 40 inches. The back cover also states: "Wagner Palace Sleeping Cars Through Between Chicago, St. Louis, Cincinnati, New York and Boston". There is an illustration of 2 trains passing each other and an illustration of what may be New York's Grand Central Station. The front cover also states - "Route of the Vestibuled Steam Heated Chicago and New York Limited" There is the illustration of a puffing locomotive and an illustration of "The Great 4 Track Route". 8 panels contain timetables: Boston and New York to Chicago; Chicago to Susquehanna (N.Y.); Chicago to Philadelphia; Chicago to Pittsburgh; Chicago to Boston; Chicago to New York; St. Louis to New York and Boston; Cincinnati, St. Louis and Chicago to Boston. Half of the other side contains the Lake Shore and Michigan Southern Railway - "Main Line Time Card" with branches. This railway's route map with connections fills 5 panels and a map of the Maine Coast is in 2 panels. The paper is clean and is still supple. There is a 2 inch split in a fold with a few small splits in the corners of some panels. A few small closed edge tears. Bookseller Inventory # 11024
