pp.ix, 326 with 6 hand coloured plates plus 10-page publisher s catalogue. Large 16mo. Hardback. AEG. Endpapers darkened, light spotting throughout, o/w. contents thor. vg. Full calf leather binding gently worn and sunned, overall good to vg. Scarce. Frederick Shoberl (1775-1853) was and English journalist, editor, translator and illustrator. In the Preface he states that "this work is founded on the French" - probably Le Langage des Fleures by Charlotte de la Tour which was first published in 1819. Seller Inventory # 62368
