Tom Jones (illustrator). 1st Edition. 24mo - over 5 - 5¾" tall. "The Last of the Buffalo", comprising A History of the Buffalo Herd of the Flathead Reservation and an Account of the Great Round Up. "Engraved, printed and Copyright by Tom Jones, Publisher Scenic Souvenirs, Cincinnati. A 1909 Original First Edition - not a modern Reproduction. NOT Ex-Library. No ISBN. A beautiful softcover book, an ornate illustrated grey/burgundy soft wrap, 13 1/2" x 5 1/4" x 31 pages of remarkable history of the end of the Buffalo herd in the western United States. The Flathead Reservation herds were built from a small stock - 33 American Bison, by the most common count, to nearly 1,000 animals. A few were moved to other locations; nearly 700 head were purchased by and shipped to Canada - the Canadians cared more about the animals. Here is a splendid photo-and-text book on the history of the herds and on the Pablo and Allard owners of the bulk of the animals. Then photos of the Roundup, the Cowboys, the Commissioners from the United States and from Canada. A stunning find. A wonderful item for the parent or grandparent building a fine intergenerational library. Splendid for the antiquarian book collector, History reader, student. A marvelous addition to the library of the Outdoor specialist. No pencilings, No underlinings, a name, ffep. NOT Ex-library. NOT Remainder-marked. Don't let this one get by you - this is a marvelous find. Bookseller Inventory # 011067
