About this title

Frank Beck was in trouble.

He was on the run after a bank robbery went terribly wrong. A cop was dead, Danny, his best friend, was dying in the back seat of the stolen getaway car, and the amateurs he'd recruited for the fateful "last job" were only making things worse.

Using all his military training, Beck finds a place to escape the police manhunt.

Inhabited only by an old man (who is still shattered by his experiences in the Korean War) and his wife, Gunya Homestead was the perfect hideout. But when one of Beck's amateurs makes a move on his defenseless wife, "Poby" the "useless war veteran" launches a one-man guerrilla war.

In the end it's man against man and only one will survive. Who will it be?

About the Author:

Peter Winwood was born in England in 1942. Educated at George Dixon Grammar School and later at Manchester Dental School, he became a general Dental Surgeon in 1964.

Moving to Adelaide, South Australia, in 1966, he continued in private practice until 1998. Having survived being "hated" (as a dentist) for over 30 years, he retired to study Psychology at the University of South Australia, completing that degree in 2000. He is currently studying for an Honors degree in Psychology with a view to re-invent himself as a psychologist.

Peter has had a lifetime interest in guns and Militaria and was the South Australian Rapid Fire Pistol Champion in 1969.
