About this Item
Incribed to former Houston attorney, Daffan Gilmer, "Sometimes knight errant and windmill tilter but always chevalier without fear and without reproach who as man and boy for now past 30 years I've held in fond affection I inscribe and present in slight token of that regard this simple sober tale of Justice of Liberty and of Law" and signed and dated (April, 1937) by the author, Joseph C. Hutcheson, Jr. Hutcheson was a U.S. federal judge, who prior to that appiontment served as the Mayor of Houston, 1917-1918. Very Good. Brown, flexi-leatherette binding remains in quite decent shape. Mild browning to endpages and margins of text. Contents clean. No marks but for author's inscription/signature. A very scarce title. Seller Inventory # 40436
