1 chromolithographed print 38 x 26 cm. signed "Alick P.F. Ritchie," with the leaf of biographical text. Alexander ('Alick') Penrose Forbes Ritchie (1868-1938) was a Scottish artist who produced many cartoons and caricatures for Vanity Fair and other magazines, as well as posters for theaters and the London Underground. Charles Wright Macara, 1st Baronet (1845-1929), was a leader in the cotton spinning industry, serving as president of the Master Spinners of England and of the Manchester Cotton Association, and as chairman of the Committee of the International Federation. He also founded the Lifeboat Saturday Movement, which was the first organized method of raising funds to support the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.
