Title: Lectures On Rhetoric And Belles Lettres
Publisher: Robert Aitken, Popes Head At Market Street
Publication Date: 1784
Book Condition: Very Good
Edition: 1st Edition
This book was published by the most respected publisher of the Revolutionary War era. Take a moment to consider who was president when this book was published. This is the First American Edition. The boards have moderate wear to the tips, and mild wear to the edges and extremities. The spine has a quarter size (hanging) tear at both the top and bottom. (I believe these could be repaired). The spine is still legible, although the gilt lettering is small. The free end pages are fragile. The front inside cover has a large pencil marking. The rear free end page has an uppe corner loss, along with an upper corner fold. The pages are clean, having no markings or folds. All pages are present as far as I can determine. There is moderate spotty toning to the pages (this book being over 220 years old). This book is rich in the tradition of the American press coming in to its own during the first years of our independence. The publisher is the same publisher of the Aitken Bible.
