About the Author:

P. K. PADHI, Ph.D. (Labour Law), is Professor, Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI), Jamshedpur. Earlier, he was Principal of University Law College, Utkal University, Bhubaneswar. He has conducted many management and in-company training programmes for such companies as Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), Reserve Bank of India (RBI), National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC), Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), and Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL). Professor Padhi is also consultant to companies such as Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) and Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL). He has authored many books including Labour and Industrial Laws, 2nd ed., published by PHI Learning. His areas of interest include contract management and arbitration, managing outsourcing, contract labour management, and labour law for corporate managers.
