About this title

Synopsis:

Legend of the Kings is about a young boy struggling to become a man in the Big Bend area of Texas in the 1930's. Kelly's dream of becoming a cowboy has a most remarkable event superimposed upon it which sets his feet on a parallel path. Through a chance encounter he finds himself immersed in a mysterious journey into the ancient wisdom of the Toltec and their mystical teachings. Set against a backdrop of wild horse hunters and incredible obstacles Kelly struggles to find understanding of the teachings and a way to use them in his everyday world. This book is the first in a series of seven books to be called The Seven Teachings of ThunderBow. A prequel to Legend of the Kings will be available in 2001 titled The Red Clay Road, it will be avaiable both in hardback and audiotape.

About the Author:

A. Kelly Pruitt is a working cowboy who is most well known for his vivid oil paintings and bronzes depicting the west. Though he had no formal training in art his work has been collected by the thousands all over the world. Kelly has published several books previous to this one and they are all out of print. Having devoted most of the last fifty years to his career in art and his love of the "cowboy life" he has recently decided to stop showing his art and devote himself to writing and training horses. He lives on a small ranch in the Chihuahua desert in a mud and stick house he and his wife fashioned with their own hands.
