About this Item

Portfolio folder from The Royal Canadian Academy of Arts exhibition held at the John B. Aird Gallery in Toronto from Nov.3 - Nov. 28, 1992. The exhibition featured tapestries from Tamara Jaworska and Osesterle's work. The portfolio (stiff folder with flaps, measuring 10" X 14") included 17 B&W plates of the artist's sculpture, a portrait of the Toronto resident by Walter Curtain, bilingual Introduction by Allan Wargon, bilingual Preface by Bruce Le Dain, List of Plates, Acknowledgements and Biographical Notes - all printed on 140 gsm matte art paper. This edition was limited to 500 copies of which the first 150 were signed and numbered by the artist. The seventeen B&W plates (7 7/8" X 9 7/8" images on 9 1/2" X 13 1/2" paper) were photographed by Laura Arsie. Portrait of the German-born artist photographed by Walter Curtin. Plate Number 4 (Female Head) is missing. Oesterle¿s work - influenced by the modernist traditions of Lipchitz, Matisse and Picasso - has been featured in major exhibitions and collections in North America, and Europe. The plates and text are in excellent shape. The white pictorial folder has some minor creasing. Uncommon. Folio - over 12" - 15" tall. Bookseller Inventory # 000784
