12mo, pp. 27, [1], 179, [1]; contemporary calf, gilt decorated spine in 5 compartments, red leather label in 1, boards lightly rubbed and toned, hinges just starting, front free endpaper lacking, all else very good. Leonidas was first published in 1736. Its position on liberty and its relevance to the politics of the day made it popular enough to go through multiple printings, and introduced Glover to a career in politics. Gaskell 488.
