A copy of several short letters asking for funds to purchase cows and oxen for the Sioux Indian families who relocated to reservations and took up farming, as stipulated in the abovementioned treaty. H.M. Teller, the Secretary of the Interior, states that "I consider it essential to the successful prosecution of the work of civilizing the Indians," to honor the terms of the treaty.
