1859, 31 ottobre Membro della setta segreta dei federati, Pallavicino fu arrestato nel dicembre 1821. Venne condannato a vent'anni di carcere che scontò allo Spielberg e, in seguito, al confino a Praga. Rientrato in Italia collaborò con Cavour, fu varie volte deputato e, dal 1860, senatore. "[…] mi tornerebbe impossibile recarmi a Bologna in questo momento. Aggiungete che io mi riconosco assolutamente inetto al nobile ufficio che vorreste affidarmi costì. Vi riuscirei un tristissimo sopraintendente, io che non ho saputo mai sopraintendere a' miei domestici interessi. Vi sono dunque riconoscentissimo della proposta […] ma debbo rispondervi con mio dolore "Non posso questa volta aderire al vostro desiderio" […]". 210x135 mm. 1 bifolio, scritta 2 pagine.
