About this title

Synopsis:

In June 2007, Lee Stagni, an accomplished computer technology executive and advocate for disabled children began a 43-month journey through the Federal prison system that forever changed his life and the lives of those around him. He shares the experience through his weekly letters home, and we gain added insight through personal diary entries made by his wife. The story chronicles life in two federal prisons; the residential drug abuse program (RDAP); the untimely death of his father and his attempts to attend the funeral; and ultimately his return to society through the halfway house and term of supervised release. His observations and lessons learned are eye-openers. First-time white-collar offenders facing incarceration will discover what awaits them upon their arrival. Stagni and his wife tell their story with the hope that it might somehow help other families through the emotionally ravaging and sometimes terrifying odyssey that is prison.

About the Author:

Lee Stagni is an unlikely felon. As a business executive and advocate for special needs children, he is the last person you might expect to be sent to prison. Yet it happened. Lee shares his experience hoping that it might help others from making a similar error in judgment. Through his private coaching practice for first-time white-collar offenders, he helps prepare them and their family for the emotional struggles they will encounter behind bars. Through his speaking engagements, he shares highlights of his experiences and offers insight for business owners, executives, attorneys, and students about the reality of the U.S. Criminal Justice system and the slippery-slope that can bring down even the most honest person who dares to tread down that path.
