Catlin's magnum opus on Indians, Letters and Notes., with hundreds of illustrations by him, containing as well as an account of his career as an artist painting scenes of Indian life in the west and Midwest. Replete with illustrations of Indians in hundreds of line drawings by the author. The maps are "U. States Indian Frontier in 1840," "Outline Map of Indian Localities in 1833," and "A chart showing the moves of the Mandans & the place of their extinction."
