References: Shaw & Shoemaker 49031; Sabin 59341.["Pazos Kanki.,.Historiador, periodista y político boliviano, nacido en Ilabayá ( Alto Perú, Bolivia) en 1779 y muerto en Buenos Aires en 1853. Su verdadero nombre era Vicente Pazos Silva. Pertenecía al pueblo indígena boliviano de los aymarás. Cursó estudios en el seminario de su población natal y fue ordenado sacerdote. Posteriormente obtuvo el grado de doctor en Teología y Derecho por la Universidad de La Paz. Ejerció su ministerio en la capital boliviana, donde entró en contacto con el abogado y periodista argentino Mariano Moreno, activista del independentismo rioplatense. Su creciente interés en la política argentina le llevó a trasladarse a Buenos Aires, donde se unió a la revolución bonaerense de mayo de 1810 e inició su carrera como periodista. Sustituyó a Pedro José Agrelo al frente del perió dico La Gaceta de Buenos Aires, cuya dirección ocupó entre 1811 y 1812. Fundó el diario El Censor, desde cuyas páginas defendió el ideario liberal. Pero al caer el gobierno del Triunvirato en octubre de 1812 fue detenido y desterrado. Se radicó en Londres, donde se convirtió al protestantismo y colgó los hábitos para casarse.
