Six children's card games in their original illustrated boxes, labelled vol. I-vol. VI, and the original dark blue cardboard case with "Library of Games" in an embossed silver-on-red paper label across the front. Individual card boxes are 6.5 x 4.5 x 2.5 cm. (2.5 x 1.75 x 1 inch). The whole set in the case is 15 x 7 x 5 cm. (6 x 2.75 x 2 inches). On the back of each game box is "A Big-Little Card Game," numbered 550-1 through 550-6. Vol. I, Old Maid: contains instruction card for Old Maid and a folded sheet with instructions for "another and more modern" game, Bachelor Girl, copyrighted 1945. Cards are illustrated with children in various traditional (Bo Peep), popular (Buffalo Bill), stereotypical (Prudy Prim), and racist (Melon Moe for a black boy eating a watermelon) costumes. Vol. II, Authors: complete with 48 cards and a folded sheet with instructions, copyrighted 1935, for the game Authors, as well as the game "Good Books." Vol. III, Dr. Quack: contains 48 cards and folded sheet with instructions (no copyright date). Vol. IV, Slap Jack: complete with 48 cards and folded sheet with instructions for Slap Jack and two additional games, Bid Jack and Skat, copyrighted 1935. Vol. V, Animal Rummy: contains 48 cards. Vol. VI, Crossword: complete with 48 cards and folded sheet with instructions, copyrighted 1935. In Good Condition: each box except vol. V has an old tape repair; Vol. V is starting to separate along one corner; Vol. I lacking one playing card (Susie Sweet) and other cards are creased and soiled, with old tape repair of one; remaining games have slight wear to cards; Vol. IV box has separated along one fold and instruction sheet torn with loss of title but not touching instructions; Vol. VI instruction sheet has several tears but is complete.
