Synopsis: This book identifies the concerns of the Library Trustee, providing insight into each topic. As community volunteers, Library Trustees often lack a comprehensive understanding of their role and function. This book is designed to be a working tool for the library board to use in developing individual understanding of the issues they face, or to stimulate group discussion at board meetings. Correctly used, it can make a strong impact on your library board.
About the Author: Jack Short has served on numerous boards of management over a period of over forty years. In the library field, he has served as national president of the American Library Trustee Association, President of the Association of Connecticut Library Boards, and Chair of the Connecticut State Library Advisory Committee. Mr. Short was one of only five people appointed by the U.S. Senate to plan the first White House Conference on Libraries and Technology. A dynamic speaker, he has addressed library groups in over 30 states.
