Synopsis: Rejection. Tragedy. Heartbreak.

These have marked the long life of Jackie Greer. Through the pain, however, she kept searching for the silver lining her father had promised would appear.

Would she ever know the intimacy of friendship?

Would she ever be allowed to be a responsible adult instead of a subservient child?

Would she ever have a family to love and applaud her?

After each tragedy in her life - and there were many - she experienced, with God's help, that life begins again with new possibilities and often unexpected joys. Jackie's wide circle of friends and her career achievements are a testament to the grit and faith of a child who decided to build a satisfying future for herself when others seemed determined to rob her of happiness and self-confidence.

"Life Always Begins" is the story of a girl who chose to love instead of yielding to bitterness because she knew that, even when grief enveloped her, life would begin again and offer another chance for happiness.

About the Author: Jackie Greer is a household name in banking. As assistant vice president of First National Bank of Houston in Houston, Texas, she was the first woman officer of a major American bank and achieved numerous other firsts in the banking world. Countless organizations and even the Queen of England and the United States Supreme Court have honored her for her career accomplishments and volunteer contributions.

Perhaps her biggest legacy, however, is her example of standing tall in the midst of overwhelming sadness and, even when her own heart was breaking, reaching out to strengthen others.
