About this Item

This 972 page benchmark is presented in publisher's original brick red cloth covers with gilt title pannelled on spine. End papers are red maps that show Tennessee 1788-1804, and The United States of the Jackson Era. By the way and just for the record, both binding and text block are rock solid tight and clean, AAA all the way. Totally unbumped and unmarked save for light toning of perimeter of pages. Original UNCLIPPED jacket is okay but has seen better days. Substantial edgewear and several toenail sized edge chips. There is some fading on the covers and spine. Includes notes, bibliography, and index. "He became a national hero during the War of 1812 when he successfully defended New Orleans and went on to become a noted Indian fighter. He was a Governor of the Florida territory and a U. S. Senator, prior to his election as President." ; B&W Photographs; Large 8vo 9" - 10" tall; 972 pages Size: 8vo - over 7" - 9" tall.
