In good condition. Boards are moderately worn with scuffing, edge wear. Light abrasions to corners and spine extremes. Gilt finishing on spine has faded and darkened. Interior is toned with more moderate foxing to end papers. Deckled fore edge is soiled, lightly chipped. H.T. Gause Esq. With the author s compliments 26/2/95 Small photograph of Goss glued to title page. Interior is free of known markings. Binding is lightly shaken, but intact. Please see photos. Llewellynn Jewitt (1816-1886) was a British illustrator, engraver, natural scientist and author of The Ceramic Art of Great Britain (1878). His output was prodigious and covered a large range of interests. Inscribed by Goss. William Henry Goss was an English potter notable for having developed the souvenir trade in pottery with his Goss crested china. COLH1889ABDK-variant.
