Small semicircular blind stamp of Linenhall Library in the fore-edge of the frontis and the title, one further blind stamp otherwise a VG+ copy of a scarce book in first edition. Leaf xcvii/xcviii of the Preface referring to General Monk's Pedigree is bound before page i of the Preface. Copy deaccessioned in a lot by the Library. First English edition. Monk (1608-1669), last of the parliamentarian generals after Cromwell's death, skilfully arranged for the restoration under Charles II without further bloodshed. Bookseller Inventory # 16847
