Brown cloth blindstamped hardcovers ornately lettered and decorated in gilt on spine and with front cover gilt design of a mounted Taylor. 214 pp. With six hand colored full page engravings. Laudatory biography of Zachary Taylor focussing mostly on his military activities, essentially a campaign piece for his successful presidential run in the 1849 election. Very good, some sunning to the spine strip but all gilt bright. Title page heavily foxed and with some tidemarking top and botton of the frontispiece plate; scattered light foxing in the text.
