Two volumes, first editions. Thcik 8vo. in royal blue cloth decorated and lettered in gilt and white. xxxv+ 504 pp. with 96 illustrations and xvii+643 pp. with index. and 154 illustrations. A bright set, expert repair to the front hinge of Vol. One. , minor wear at the spine extremities. Laid in is a handwritten letter, recto only dated Sept. 14, 1837 and signed by Josiah Wedgwood, the son and heir of the founder of the famed company. He writes to a Rev. John Edmonds of Hanley of his honor at being named by a committee as president of an unidentified organization. Mailing folds and with original wax seal, embrowning to the address panel.
