First edition of this translation of the 16th century Spanish work. Inscribed. signed and dated 6 April 1917 by the author to Chicago railroad magnate Herbert Vanderhoof. Vanderhoof would later found a town named for himself in British Columbia, now a tourist destination. The cloth shows only very light edgewear; the spine is faintly sunned.
