Hardcover in dust jacket. Second printing of first edition. Book is crisp and clean, with tight binding and sharp corners. Small rectangle of tanning on title and facing page from acidic paper formerly laid in. Unclipped dust jacket is fresh and bright, with light wear at spine ends and a touch of toning to spine. Isobel field was Robert Louis Stevenson's stepdaughter and, in her later life, her home in Los Olivos, California, was a gathering spot for writers and actors. For a some years she lived in Samoa, and writes about those years in the book. Illustrated with handsome photos. Beautiful decorative endpapers. 8vo. 233 pp. including index. In protective Mylar.
