Captain Gelett describes matter-of-factly one fascinating event after another. These events are described in a narrative of whaling and ocean adventure between 1833 and 1870. He stopped at, among other places, Tahiti, the Galapagos Islands, Ponape, Aitutaki, as well as various points on the Hawaiian Islands. He met with Reverend Lyman in Hilo in 1848. 119pp. Index.
