A clean, tight copy of the 1968 facsimile reprint of the 1901 original. This copy has a lot of period charm, and should delight any historically-minded Pittsburgher (which is most of them) . The illustrations have reproduced very nicely. The olive green jacket is lightly worn. A mylar Brodart cover now protects it. A mystery remains. The back cover of the jacket states that this reprint commemorates the 150th anniversary of something. What is not clear; Johnston was born in 1828, not 1818, and obviously did not found his printing company at birth. In any case, if you want to delve into his era of Pittsburgh history, this is a very attractive volume to explore. Fast shipping, with tracking number provided. ; 303 pages.
