About this Item

Green boards have some sunning along edgedges as well as along the spine. Looks as if other books were stacked on this one over a long period of time. Otherwise the book is secure and well-bound, no tears or parting. Very light edge and corner wear. Very attractive copy. ; B&W Photo frontispiece; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; Stroyer was a former slave who became a well-known preacher in Massachusetts. This memoir was originally published in 1879, but this New and Enlarged version is generally accepted as the more complete and more important edition. This copy is a 1st thus and is signed by Shroyer under his photo. You can tell that the signature is real because the ink has bled through to the back of the page. Blockson 9720.; Signed by Author.
