[355]-627; [363]-707, with over a hundred extra-illustrated plates. Quarto. Original three-quarter red morocco and cloth, spine gilt, t.e.g. Corners bumped, light shelf wear. Internally clean. Very good plus. Two parts from an extra-illustrated edition limited to 100 sets. Only four portraits of Benjamin Franklin were included in the original publication of Parton's great biography. In the complete limited set, thirty portraits of Franklin were added, as well as over one hundred other portraits and views. These two parts, the latter half of each volume, contain a number of the Franklin portraits, and images of George Washington, Benjamin Rush, William Pitt, George Grenville, Marie Antoinette, and many other notable figures from a wide cultural and political spectrum.
