About this Item

John Russell, SC. Jamison was from South Carolina. This is an excellent work to add to a Civil War collection as a representative Confederate Imprint. On the page behind the title page it reads, “Entered according to the Act of Congress of the Confederate States of America.” Copies distributed in the Confederacy had only the John Russell imprint. Jamison was the president of South Carolina's 1860 Secession Convention. Good+ copy of the first edition. Both volumes have wear on the spine tabs and a little shelf wear. Volume one has 287 pages and volume two has 314 pages. Bookseller Inventory # 36359
