About this title

F W Boreham's imaginative and dramatic biographical sermons will continue to delight and enlighten Christian readers around the world in this new edition entitled Life Verses. Drawing upon his extensive study of the Bible along with classic biographies and English literature, Boreham brings to life the often untold "rest of the story"--the impact of a Scripture verse or passage upon great Christians and other historical figures. Originally entitled A Casket of Cameos, volume three of Life Verses explores the crucial experiences of notable Christians such as George Whitfield, David Brainerd, and Charles G Finney. Boreham consistently presents the unchanging essentials of God's Word at work in great lives. Pastors and teachers will appreciate the wealth of illustrative material, and readers will be drawn to Boreham's captivating and always insightful sermon stories. About the Author: Frank William Boreham (1871-1959) was born in Tunbridge Wells, England, and educated at Spurgeon's Pastors College in London. Drawn to the ministry by F B Meyer, Boreham pastored in New Zealand, Tasmania, and Australia. In his later ministry he spoke to vast congregations throughout the Endligh-speaking world. His unique, five-volume series began as Sunday evening sermons that attracted so many listeners with their unconventional approach that the series continued for some 125 Sunday evenings. Boreham became one of the century's most prolific and well-known religious writers, publishing more than fifty books and hundreds of newspaper and magazine articles.
