Synopsis: Light Up. Dance With Your Dark Side was written to help readers learn how to use the parts of themselves that are painful, scary, dangerous, hidden and shameful to live more the way they want to live. In it, Dr. Al Galves uses stories, examples and exercises to help readers learn how to manage their whole selves, not just the "positive" parts.
The reader learns to:
- become clear about what is important
- harness the energy in the "negative" emotions
- use the stress response to address threats to his ability to love the way he wants to love and express herself the way she wants to express herself
- become aware and able to manage the hidden beliefs, attitudes, assumptions and habits that drive her behavior
- learn how and why he stops himself from doing what he wants to do
- use her selfishness to get along with others without giving up too much of herself
- integrate the parts of herself she doesn't like to keep them from biting her in the butt, and
- wrestle with the great bugaboo: sex.
Lighten Up will help you use your whole self to live the way you want to live.
