About this Item

Small 8vo. Black cloth. 64pp. Illustrations. Very good. Second edition of this obscure 1938 pamphlet, in which this unabashed racist and unreformed Southerner (died 1966) regrets that the pre-Civil War notion of repatriation of African-Americans to Africa never took place. The original, scarce pamphlet was 36 pages long, and Cox was at work on this longer edition when he died in Richmond, so this actually represent a revised, expanded edition and the title's first appearance in hardbound form. Unusual and bizarre. Bookseller Inventory # 23212
