Title: Little Black Sambo, Musical Radio Script.
Publisher: Musette Publishers Inc., New York
Publication Date: 1941
Edition: First edition.
10.75" x 10.25". 24pp. Color illustrated paper boards. Some edge wear and rubbing, overall a nice VG+ copy. This copy lacks the original record that was issued with the book. Madge Tucker, "The Lady Next Door," adapted Helen Bannerman's immortal tale for broadcasting purposes, and composed original lyrics for the radio program's songs. Molly Donaldson wrote the music. She was the director of NBC's children's programming department, and also produced a program entitled "Coast to Coast on a Bus" from 1937 to 1941. This volume features color and black & white illustrations by Ted Egri, including the front board, which shows the tiger and a brightly attired Little Black Sambo whistling in front of an NBC microphone.
