About this Item

8vo. Dark blue cloth spine and pale blue pictorial paper over boards, pictorial dust jacket. 176pp. Frontispiece, numerous illustrations, pictorial endpapers. Near fine/very good. Faint jacket edgewear, with small chip at head of spine; small nonauthorial gift inscription on front flyleaf. Tight, bright copy of this volume in Brandeis' popular "Children of All Lands" series. Well illustrated with photographs by Brandeis. According to all standard references (McBride, etc.), pre-1960 G & D editions do NOT note edition in any verifiable, consistent manner -- they are a reprint house -- despite many claims that pre-1960 G & D editions are "first" or "presumed first" or other false assumptions. The A. Flanagan Company out of Chicago first published this series. Bookseller Inventory # 35839
