About the Author:

Lorraine Lum Calbow has a MA in counseling. She is an author, storyteller, workshop presenter, consultant, teacher, and educational counselor. She has been an educator for 30 years. She is the author of This Little Light of Mine: Remembering the Light Within. Ms. Calbow is a leader. She has served on the National Storytelling Network (NSN) Board four years and received the 2005 ORACLE Award for Leadership and Service in Storytelling. In 1995, she founded the South Mountain Community College Storytelling Institute. She is community minded with a three-year term on the Tempe Human Relations Commission. She is a leader serving as Faculty Senate President at the college level twice and the Maricopa Community College District level once.

For 24 years, she has promoted human growth and development. She has taught Counseling and Personal Development in the areas of Stress Management, Multiculturalism, Communication Skills and Relationships. Within the last the seven years, she has been teaching Storytelling. She has presented locally, nationally, and internationally on such topics as:
