Sir Thomas Littleton (born 1422, probably at Frankley, Worcestershire, England died 1481) was a jurist, who wrote the first important English legal text neither written in Latin nor significantly influenced by Roman (civil) law. It long remained the principal authority on English real property law. The first edition of The Tenures appeared in 1481 or 1482, one of the earliest books printed in London and the earliest treatise on English law printed anywhere. STC (2nd ed.) 15780.
