921p. A re-bound copy in mottled brown calf with five raised bands on spine, gilt on spine label, pointed corners and dark red-painted text-block. Interior is unmarked on warm pages true from period, with scattered foxing and toning on margins. Beautiful marbled endpapers. Firmly bound with securely attached hinges. Title page is shaken but present. Small book binder's sticker on blank rear endpaper. Minor scuffing on edges of text-block. Some pages have damp stains, but does not hinder legibility. First "complete edition" in English of the moral and philosophical essays of Seneca the Younger.
