About this Item

First UK edition, first impression of the author's very scarce third novel. A fine book (one lower corner lightly tapped) in a very good plus dustjacket with only one significant flaw: a tiny chip at the top of the front panel by the upper spine tip that turns into a 1" closed tear (unfortunately and unnecessarily closed on the verso with a piece of tape by a well-meaning but ignorant person - fixable, but a job for a professional). There are a few other very minor blemishes, including some slight toning to the rear fold, but overall the jacket is a beauty - wonderfully designed by Bill Botten, the mixture of shades of green, blue and white (all unfaded) is arresting. The lighter shade of green is picked up by the same shade on the book's topstain. This is a slim book (110 pages), but a powerful one, nonetheless: "a rare and beautiful fantasy, a small masterpiece spinning enchantment, mystery and joy, defying comparison.".
