8vo. xii, 322 pages. Illustrated with pictures and maps. Illustrated map end sheets. Hardcover with title on spine. Illustrated dust jacket. Previous owner (Colonel James, Bogle author and train historian) name stamp on verso of right front flyleaf. Colonel Bogle tipped in a typed 4 page reminiscence of his actions in the South Pacific and Gaudalcanal during World War II. Bogle also tipped in a 1977 letter before the index page from Col. Julian G. Hearne Jr. regarding one of Hearne's friends a Coastwatcher from Sydney named Cecil Bell. Bell died of Cancer two weeks after speaking to Hearne. Hearne wrote Bogle shortly after Bell died from Cancer. A copy of Walter Lord's book review is paste down on the rear end sheet. A nice copy with the extra letters. Bookseller Inventory # 6207
