About this seller

Longbranch Books is a new online bookstore established in July 2014. Ours is literally a "Mom & Pop" operation, and our stock comes from the large number of books we have collected over the years. This is our second foray into the book business. We ran a brick & mortor bookshop on Vashon Island, WA from 1973 to 1985. My wife is a genealogist and her interests have focused on American history from Colonial through the Federal periods. Since many in her family come from the South, she has accumulated more than a few books on Southern history as well. My interests revolve around ancient history, in particular Bronze Age and Dark Age Greece and the Aegean. My interest in these areas have culminated in the publication of two books, From Citadel to City-State: The Transformation of Greece, 1200 - 700 BCE (Indiana University 1999), and The Trojan War (University of Oklahoma 2007). I collaborated with Prof. Carol Thomas of the University of Washington on both books. In addition to American and ancient history, our collection includes a fair amount of literary fiction and books on European history from all periods.
