The present edition includes a detailed chronology of American history from October 13, 1812, to February 20, 1815, comments on the bank Safety Fund Act, lists of city officers, and various statistics for the city of New York, the United Kingdom, and France. The New York register also contains information for the post office, banks, and insurance companies, as well as the "Runner's Vade Mecum," a guide to streets and addresses for use with the Longworth map. The directory contains over 35,500 names of New York City residents, with their addresses and means of livelihood, together with listings for "Public Buildings, Churches, Incorporated Societies, &c."
